Normaly I don’t post about specific books, however, when one of the shops top sellers is cancelled, with no reason given, I think a notice is needed.
The Boys has been officially cancelled as of issue six. According to Newsarama.com, DC declined to comment, but Garth Ennis and Derrick Robertson confirmed the cancellation. The book is creator owned and with the cancellation the rights revert back to Ennis and Robertson. Newsarama.com quoted Robertson; “”It became obvious that DC was not the right home for The Boys.  DC is being good about reverting our rights so we can find a new publisher and we’re in the process of doing that now.â€
On a side note, issue six sold over 27,000 copies putting it 80th of the top 300 comics published. You can draw your own conclusions as to why the book was cancelled.
Issue seven was set to be released January 31st. When it finds a new home we will carry it and hope to increase sales with a trade paperback collection (of issues one through six) coming out either right before or right after issue seven hits stores.
On a personal note, I loved this book and know many of you felt the same. If you feel strong enough, please, write DC Comics via their website at dccomics.com. Ask them why this happened.
