I think that the new DC stuff is pretty good. I don't mind paying the extra money either considering it goes to the continuation of my favorite stories from childhood, and to help you guys out as well.

Only been coming in there for a couple months, but you guys are the Sh!t and it makes it so much better to know that I can carry on a conversation about ANYTHING and have a good time.

But yes, I know the extra stories have no real pertinence :p

To echo your statement about Planet Comicon; last year was my first time, and it was one of the best cons I have ever been to. Not too big, not too small. Fans will have the ability to get up close and personal (some too personal I'm sure) with some of their favorite creators like Matt Fraction, Jason Aaron, Bruce Jones, and myself (just kidding). Definitely an easy trip that can be as cheap or as expensive as you'd like.
I really think our own Icon should take note of what kind of shows Planet Comicon, and MN's Fallcon are, and strive to achieve that same level of quality.

I also wanted to challenge you regarding Geoff Johns. DC Comics continuity can be a challenge for those of us that spent decades primarily following Marvel Comics. It is because of writers like Geoff Johns that DC's titles have recently been easier accessible. His run on Action Comics, JSA, and Green Lantern are evidence of this.
I have Geoff's back because I feel he is consistently one of the best "super hero" writers working in comics today.
As testament to his abilities: I used to have an utter disdain for Green Lantern; I felt he was the epitome of lameness. It was Geoff Johns that made me a fan and realize what potential that character truly had. I started with the No Fear trade, as opposed to Rebirth.
I also give Johns credit for resolving Hawkman's muddled continuity, as well as wonderfully juggling the expansive cast of characters in the JSA books. If anyone feels the quality of the JSA books had diminished a bit the past few months can more than likely blame that meddlesome Alex Ross.
I am not a Flash fan, but am confident that Geoff Johns has the ability to change that and make me care about the character. I have never read a Flash comic, and do not have much knowledge regarding the history other than what Newsarama and CBR tell me. I will be picking up the Flash: Rebirth comic and we'll see if my confidence is misplaced.
In anticipation of its success I'd love to see a Johns penned Rebirth Aquaman, or Martian Manhunter. Two other characters I never much cared for!
